The solitary howl of a jackal, carried along the evening breeze, and the primordial scent of the bushveld, make a visit to the Kruger Park Lodge a true African adventure. Situated on the banks of the Sabie River in the Lowveld, near the world-renowned Kruger National Park, it is a true wilderness paradise. But being in the heart of the bush doesn't mean you have to compromise on style and comfort. The Kruger Park Lodge offers Africa's finest in every possible way.

Construction on Kwa Maritane already commenced centuries ago. An ancient alkaline volcano fashioned the very hills that Kwa Maritane stands on today. Hence it's name, which literally means "Place of the Rock". From here, you can look out over the infinite plains adjacent to the Pilanesberg National Park - an area rich in wildlife and hosting around 365 species of birds. Perhaps it's these ideal natural surroundings that won us the "Best Game Lodge" Award at the 1998 and 2001 Conference & Exhibition Venue Awards. Or maybe it's just that we offer distinctive service in every way.

A mere two hours drive north of Johannesburg and Pretoria and you'll find yourself in the tranquil heart of the bush. Pilanesberg National Park is home to the gargantuan shapes of Africa's giants - elephants, rhino and buffalo. If you're fortunate, you may catch a glimpse of the stealthy leopard or lion, stately king of the bush. Wild country indeed, but without the risk of malaria. If you do head this way, be sure to check in at Bakubung Bush Lodge - a venue of such excellence that it has been awarded "Best Bush Conference Venue" at the 2000 Venue Finder Awards. It was also voted the ASATA\ Diners Club “Best South African Game Lodge" earlier this year.

The thing that stands out most about Castleburn is that it doesn't stand out at all. Architecturally designed to blend into the landscape of the Southern Drakensberg, the resort's most prominent feature is the rocky pinnacles that surround it. With Lake Madingofani at its feet, Castleburn lures eland, reedbuck and around a hundred bird species to its peaceful surrounds.

You don't always have to go far to find palm trees and untamed beaches. A mere one hour south of Durban, glistening on North Beach as if relinquished by the tide, lies the Mediterranean-style La Côte d'Azur. In fact, staying within walking distance of some of the finest beaches of the Indian Ocean, guests don't have to go far for anything their hearts desire. This luxury family resort offers just about any form of entertainment you can think of.

his charming Mediterranean-styled village, with its white-washed arches and cobble-stoned pathways, incorporates 3 acres of sub-tropical parkland overlooking the Indian Ocean. This superb resort offers tastefully appointed cabanas and suites, a wide array of exciting restaurants and bars, and an outstanding range of leisure activities. Cabana Beach is the ultimate holiday destination where guests can relax and enjoy 365 days filled with sun and fun.

The Beacon Island Hotel at Plettenberg Bay is truly a world-famous landmark and one of the most sought-after holiday destinations. Plettenberg Bay embraces one of the most beautiful sweeps of coastal scenery in South Africa. With its breathtaking backdrop of the Outeniqua and Tsitsikamma mountain ranges, it is protected on one side by the Robberg Nature Reserve, which juts into the sea. This area is also awash with river and lagoons, indigenous forests and bounded by long sandy beaches stretching east and west. Built on a rocky promontory jutting into the warm Indian Ocean, Beacon Island's setting remains unsurpassed. The hotel attracts a diverse group of guests - from the newly-weds, who have chosen this romantic spot for their honeymoons, to families who really appreciate the children's special entertainment programme that the hotel operates during the season, to keen sports enthusiasts and, of course, international tourists. Most of the tastefully decorated rooms and suites overlook the sea or lagoon, and have every modern comfort. The hotel has three excellent restaurants. The resort really caters to every taste and, apart from warm, safe swimming in the sea, there are two swimming pools - one outdoor and one heated indoor - a separate sauna for ladies and gents, floodlit tennis courts, water-skiing, scuba diving, volleyball, table tennis and squash. For the health conscious, there is a fully equipped gymnasium, with a daily aerobics programme. The hotel is designed for pure relaxation and is the perfect holiday destination, attracting visitors from all over the world.

It's no surprise that Wilderness Dunes was the RCI Resort of the Year for three consecutive years. It conjures up a postcard picture and in addition gives you something to write home about.
This Garden Route resort is encompassed by shining lakes and forests that enfold the Outeniqua Mountains on the one side, neighbours Millionaire's Row and enjoys uninterrupted access to the ocean.
